Do yall ever go through periods of sadness that people aren’t making hip hop that sounds like the original goods? Well, fuck if yall don’t. I do. But then artists like Rahiem Supreme and Sir EU cross my path with a track like this one, “Word Life,” and shit all the sudden seems okay. It’s like the apocalypse isn’t right around the corner anymore. Not that I’m not a big fan of the hip hop today, because I am, but sometimes you gotta take a step back. Reminisce on the old goods. That’s what we’ve got here. Good slang, great rhymes, old school production…sounds like a Nas fan’s jam. Hell ya.
