Watch the Throne Update!

Watch the Throne

What up music lovers!

My name is James and I am a new writer for the sickest music blog on the internet!

Ok enough about me, let’s get into the good stuff. Unless you live under a rock, you most likely are aware of Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s new album, Watch the Throne, set to release digitally August 1st and in stores August 5th. What many people do not know is the content of the album. Well, thanks to a very lucky friend of mine who got an exclusive listen to the album 2 weeks ago with “Jigga Man” himself, I have an inside scoop. From what I understand and can confirm, the album samples Flux Pavilion’s “I Can’t Stop.” Based on the official tracklist Lydia posted earlier, I have a hunch the song is titled “Who Gon Stop Me.” Also, based on what my friend told me, it is one of the best tracks on the album and Kanye goes absolutely crazzzy. I can see this track being similar to the hit “Stronger” on Kanye’s album, Graduation (If that is the case, be prepared to hear this song being played numerous times throughout your day). This is an example of Kanye again trying to connect genres and break the music boundaries. It will be interesting to see if this starts a trend of rappers sampling dubstep. I wonder how this song will compare to Chiddy Bang’s freestyle on the same beat, but with two completely different masterminds behind the two tracks, I can guarantee they will be nothing alike.

That is it for the update, hopefully it is good news and made you that much more excited for this album. I for one am curious to see how the Jay-Z and Kanye duo pull this one off. I think it goes without saying, but August 1st will be a very good day in the music world.
