The Concept – Gimme Twice + D-D-Dance

Most music blogs come with some amount pretentious snobbery–the “my-music-is-better-than-your-music” mentality or even better, the “if-you-don’t-like-these-songs-then-you-just-don’t-’get-it’-and-you-probably-never-will-you-unsophisticated-low-life” mentality. I try to be more open-minded.
It’s frustrating though that there are some blogs that judge music more with their minds more than with their ears. I think there are times when you just need to throw away the thesaurus and call music “good” or accept a catchy tune despite its simple lyrics. You should post music that moves you, not music that might have moved iconic Polish composer Frédéric Chopin. Fuck that. Fuck Chopin.
The Concept makes catchy indie-pop gems–or they’ve made two that I know of, at least. The first is “Gimme Twice,” which sounds A LOT like a Phoenix track. “D-D-Dance” sounds more like whatever The Concept sounds like. It may still sound familiar, but something about it is undeniably catchy. It will be tough not to desk dance during “D-D-Dance.” I’m serious. You’ve been warned.
