Sampling The Kooks “Sweet Emotions”, Left Boy creates “Sweet Emotions,” a futuristic pop tune with a hip hop taste that is too catchy for your own good. Pop isn’t for everyone, sometimes it can be too corny, but I can confidently say that this is for everyone. Check it out below, and let us know what you think!
This summer was a miracle. I started off with almost no plans and ended up going to London with my dad, spending the Fourth of July at the beach with my best friends, and interning with my aunt in Washington (D.C.). I think the biggest lesson I learned from these travels is that it is not about where you go, it is about who you’re with. “Beach Is Better” is not saying that weekend at the beach with my friends was my best trip. It is saying that you can make a “beach” wherever you go. And that’s always better.

I’m graduating on Saturday. I think graduation is a time when people want you to be both selfish and selfless. They expect you to want stuff–whether it be a whole graduation party or a freaking overly emotional parting gift. They say that this is your time, and it is. But also half of graduation is for other people. It’s a time when you let your mom fix your graduation cap for one last time. It’s a time when you endure a really boring ceremony just so your parents can have a picture of you accepting your diploma framed and sitting proudly on the mantelpiece in the family room.
My point is that I made this mix for you as much as I did for myself. I’m really kind of scared of graduation, so I stuck a lot of (new) songs that for one reason or another remind me of a specific memory from the last four years–I guess so I don’t forget. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I’m usually not a fan of remixing “guilty pleasure” songs, but if I had to trust anybody to get the job done right, it’d probably be Left Boy. Sampling the annoyingly infectious single, Call Me Maybe, Left Boy puts Carly Rae Jepsen through some sort of video game soundtrack blender and adds his own weird brand of bars to boot. Word.
The Austrian homie Left Boy just reached the 15k mark on Facebook, so he dropped this one for the fans. This sample is too smooth. Looking forward to hearing more from this dude. Ey!

Ferdinand Sarnitz, better known by his stage name, Left Boy, is an unconventional rapper/singer in many ways. He hails from Austria, but has been making a pretty big splash stateside as of late. His flow is ridiculously whiny, yet somehow alluring at the same time. It’s funny how the music that confuses you the most is also the most interesting. In celebration of his recent success on The Hype Machine, LB dropped this loosie he made back in 2010. Check out this acoustic cover/remix of Gloria Gaynor’s classic 70s hit, “I Will Survive.”
2 Songs that have reached #4 in the Hypemachine charts in the same week is pretty damn amazing, THANK YOU! This is… fb.me/LA46zKx3
