Sinead Harnett – High Wire (Wet Paint Remix)

Sinead Harnett | Wet Paint Remix

I’ve been following these guys for quite some time now, and I’m really impressed with the direction that they’re taking their music. Evolving slowly from a future funk sound to a more future bass / experimental sound akin to large festival banger producers ie. What So Not, etc. After reaching the US/Canada for a small tour, the duo are back in the studio now working on a full length – can’t wait for that!

This one’s got a sort of #OrientalBass vibe to it. I dig, for sure.

Dropped only about 3 days ago, I’m glad to have caught this release so quickly! You can find most of their discography available for free download at their website.

Third Eye Blind – Semi-Charmed Life (PINEO & LOEB Remix)

When PINEO plays shows, heads turn. Not because of his dashingly good looks, but because they recognize every damn song that he remixes. Teamed up with LOEB, they make PINEO & LOEB – cosmic retro funk renegades of the future (if that makes any sense). I’ve gotta admit that I’m a pretty big fanboy when it comes to these guys, they seem to never disapoint!

Catch their latest, and grab it for free:

If you dig this remix, you’d most DEFINITELY love his re-work of Gorillaz, Will Smith, or Tears for Fears. Find them here.

From PINEO himself:

“Bringing back the 90s addicts anthem along with some live guitar played by Matt Stevens (Helical), Jurassic 5 samples and all sorts of crazy sounds. Free download uploaded while we’re off playing some shows in Nepal!”

Catch him on the internet, as well:

SPOTLIGHT: Wet Paint [Future Funk/Electro Soul]

Wet Paint Future Funk

What’s up guys?

This jam showed up in my feed today, and I’ve gotta say – I’m hooked. The thirsty thursday blues has been quenched. PLUS it’s almost Friday and I’m pretty stoked to have another jam to add to my weekend collection! For fans of Griz, Odesza, Pretty Lights, etc.!

Aside from this, they’ve got quite the awesome collection of bangers that I’m sure won’t be getting tired of the sound anytime soon.  Of course, I also love how they offer up their collection for free download, as well!

Check out their new website, and enjoy the jams:

“Wet Paint is a vibrant electro/funk duo that have been tearing shit up since day one. Conceived in the summer of 2012 in Montreal, Wet Paint have evolved their sound turning over many hit remixes including Frank Ocean, Purity Ring, the Black Keys, and more.

After a season of sharing the stage with some of their favourite acts including Gramatik, Lunice, Torro Torro and Viceroy, they’re in the studio preparing their next release.

Smooth grooves and layered bass are first on the agenda at their live shows; with the recent addition of a live drums AND guitar to spice up the mix, it’s only a matter of time before they’re on the road to promote their newest releases set to drop in April, 2015. ”

Enjoy!

Wasko – Songbird

Wasko | Sunset in the Rearview

A deep house groover here to warm you up for festival season – turn the volume up loud and hopefully you have a subwoofer, cause this one brings heat. All the way from the east coast, Nick Iwaskow aka Wasko is at it again with another blend of his deep and psychedelic bass sounds. Having dabbled in many different genres and forms of artistic expression including live AV / installation work, the man is a jack-knife of interesting culture and stimuli.

Check out his latest, titled Songbird, available now for free download via Soundcloud:

You will also be pleasantly surprised to find that his eclectic array of musical personas include melancholic indie / RnB anthem style electronic tunes such as this, which happens to feature Montreal resident Jenna Deagle-Potter:
