Erik Hassle seems to be the Swedish king of pumping out the catchiest of tunes and “Natural Born Lovers” is no exception. This track is a pure pop gem that is intertwined with electronic sounds and a dash of soul with Hassle’s sexy vocals. It’s a surprise Erik Hassle hasn’t taken over the pop world, but this tune is another one to add to his impressive list of work. Could he be the next r&b-pop star that’s all over the radio? Only time will tell, until then check out “Natural Born Lovers” below.
Erik Hassle may be writing hits for superstars like Rihanna and Shakira, but he’s not simply a supplier. He has his own creations in which his triple threat talents can be heard. After putting out a couple of really great albums the last fewof years, he’s back with a new vibe. What his new track “Pathetic” brings is something undeniably addictive. It’s got a smokey, coolness that is impossible to not get stuck in your head after one listen. If you’re down for a bit of soulful pop, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Erik Hassle’s new EP to be out soon.
Covers are an interesting thing. A lot of times, they leave me feeling stupid and worthless as I tell myself I’ve discovered this great new band who instantly put out a classic, only to find it’s a cover. But the silver lining to that feeling is that usually it means the cover was done right. The artist covering the material needs to bring an element of uniqueness to the original song in order to make it a bit of their own, but not a complete ripoff of the maker’s creation. And when done right, it’s a magical moment. Here are ten covers done exceptionally well.
UK artists Erik Hassle and Ellie Goulding have recorded an acoustic cover of Robyn’s “Be Mine,” and it’s immediately become a favorite of mine. This is an absolutely beautiful little ballad, and really speaks to the heart. I seem to have been posting a lot of heavy hip hop, or maybe what some people consider rap (what’s the difference? Read here…) lately, but my heart still melts when it hears a song like this. I’m just a 5’1 white girl who comes off hard with her big-cheeked smile and vicious blogging tendencies, but I’m a softy deep down. You just gotta dig to find that side of me.
It’s a good thing tears never show in the pouring rain
As if a good thing could ever make up for all the pain
There’ll be no last chance, I promise to never mess it up again
Just a sweet pain of watching your back as you walk
As I’m watching you walk away
Shout out to @meredith_kav for the heads up.
