A friend of mine introduced me to this interesting producer, TWRK, who I had never heard of before. Given the fact that the release is published by Mad Decent Records, I decided to give it a few listens. I honestly wasn’t expecting the track to be so wild – something about the way they harness the unique nature of an a’capella and warp it to the rhythm of an insane block-rocking 808 kick, slightly gives me the shivers.
I feel almost as if I should check myself in to bass addicts anonymous after this one. I think it’s got me hooked.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to turn things up for the weekend – or give into your thirsty Thursday rituals.
Check it out!

Don’t worry, I had to do a double-take too when I saw Frank Ocean, The Clash‘s Mick Jones and Paul Simonon and Diplo were all on a track together. It only made sense was when I realized that they collaborated for Converse’s “Three Artists, One Song” project. I had sort of forgotten that they did this, but I remember when they got Kid Cudi, Rostam Batmanglij (of Vampire Weekend) and Bethany Cosentino (of Best Coast) together on a track called “All Summer” back in 2010.
This time around, they’ve pulled some stellar artists together, and they even recruited the West Los Angeles Children’s Choir for an angelic refrain. The result is a catchy tune that plays on the strengths of all key players: Frank Ocean’s alluring storytelling through his vocals, the punk instrumentals and shouts from Jones and Simonon, and the perfect production that Diplo has become famous for. The woo of the children’s choir is the icing on top of the cake.
There’s always a fear that collaborations like this will fall flat on their faces, but surprisingly enough, they can just as often work like a charm. This time, we’re lucky it was the latter.
If following Diplo’s career has taught me anything, it’s that he’s a man of supremely eclectic tastes. From crafting M.I.A.’s signature track, “Paper Planes,” to engineering the Caribbean-inspired Major Lazer, Diplo never ceases to surprise.
On this excellent remix, Mr. Pentz creates a haunting trap anthem out of the relatively unknown Grizzly Bear cut, “Will Calls.”
Everybody’s Favorite White Boy, you’ve done it again.
So, I finally realized the beauty of using sets on SoundCloud. This format will make it waaay easier for you guys to stream Best Five Dance from now on. I mean, just press play once and it’s game over.

Just in time for the weekend Diplo and GTA give us the much awaited original mix of the huge Missy-Elliott-sampling track, Boy Oh Boy. This banger is sure to take any weekend dance party to the next level. The track has huge bass lines and pulsing tribal drums that are impossible not to move to. Diplo and GTA remind us that Missy has more swag in one of her vinyl Adidas than the rest of us have in our whole body. Diplo consistently impresses me more than any DJ right now, and after hearing this I am sure you will agree.
What’s better than ringing in the new year with new music? Not much, really. Press play and piss the night away to the best dance bangers of the week.

It’s been a long time coming for hip-hop trio Travis Porter (misnomer, I know.) After first making waves back in 2009, the Georgia natives finally released their debut studio album yesterday, titled From Day 1. Peep the lead single below, which features head-pounding bass brought to you by banger specialist Diplo.
