I’m sure Brian Oblivion and Madeline Follin (pictured above) of Cults have lied many times in their lives. But they told the truth when they announced earlier this year that they were working on a hip-hop (re)mixtape. If you haven’t heard this news already, take some time to digest that information before hitting the play button below. This is some major dopeness. Like, swagger to the max.

It’s been a few months since I’ve done an Artists on the Dashboard, which gives me so much more motivation to keep moving on these, because the list of artists about to break out into the limelight is robust. It’s bursting at the seams. This is an exciting time for a lot of the artists that I’ve been following for a while now, and it’s an exciting time for artists I’ve never heard of who I believe have the ability to make it in the very near future. The three artists of choice this month are Theophilus London, Cults, and Lyn Charles. Hit the jump for descriptions and MP3 samples from each artist on the dashboard.
Cults are an indie-rock band that are quickly gaining steam for their high-energy acts. This is a single from their upcoming album, to be released this month. The male-female vocal duo really rocks me to the core. This one’s been on repeat for me this morning. It’s not brand new, but it’s a must-have in your iTunes. This is a great summer jam.
He broke my heart cuz I really loved him
