Best New Songs of August 2016

VdXUBoo

Today is my 24th birthday. The significance in this year is that it’s my year of the Black Mamba. This has absolutely nothing to do with music, but not much needs to be said other than the fact that both Frank Ocean (finally!), and Young Thug dropped new albums this month. Check out Best of August, as well as, Best of July below!

Best of August 2012

jpgs_0007_august

We’re back to bring you the latest  songs to drop in the month of August!

There’s something special about every edition of “Best of August.” It happens to drop on August 31st, which is a pretty rad date. I turned 20 today, so throw them middle fingers in the air and jam out to this months “Best of August!”

Jordan’s Top 5:

KiD CuDi ft. King Chip – Just What I Am

Like, this is sort of a big deal. He’s been spotted rapping on features, but this is his first rap single since WZRD. I said it at the time it came out that it’s got Man on The Moon type feel all over it. I think the world is rejoicing.

Hoodie Allen – Feel The Love

I’m not sure if Hoodie just recently did this, or if it was a leftover like “Hey Now”, but this is a fucking jam. RJF kills it on production as the witty lyrics of Hoodie Allen flood your ears.

Mikey Mike – Turn Down Your Head

Mikey Mike is the shit. He wrote this on shrooms, and this song is about acid (although we don’t condone either). However, if you’re not as informed…wait…you haven’t heard? No, but in all seriousness, Mikey Mike is legit.

Skizzy Mars – High School Girls

I feel like a cheerleader for a sport. WE. WANT. MOOOOOOOOREEEE! Phases will eventually drop, but Skizzy does it again rapping about the girls in high school and the ones who will always be in high school. Again, not his best release, but good enough for a top spot. We love you, Skiz.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Wanz – Thrift Shop

This was an easy one. Enough said.

Honorable Mentions: The Knocks, Lupe Fiasco, MGK, Chance The Rapper, Logic, Radical Something
