Sunset in the Rearview Presents: shapes and sounds [Mixtape]

I woke up this morning and realized that Fall had officially arrived. Apparently October is doing its thing: cold weather, blue skies, echoing winds. I’m not sure about you, but Fall to me means open windows, grasping the splitting strings of bearable weather and sunshine. It means football season, pumpkin beers, blankets and slippers. It means crisp days. But there’s something dark about it, too. The brightness of Summer is coming to an end. No more chillwave; no more steel drums. It’s time for some electric guitars, plucked strings, sustained keys and harrowing lyrics.
Here is a collection of songs that I plan on listening to repeatedly this Fall. Not many new songs on here; I’d rather take a step back and appreciate the ones that have come my way and gotten to me for a second. They’ve broken me down, and I’m here to rebuild. I will not Fall. These are the shapes and sounds. Don’t stop listening.
Side note: I didn’t want to change the album names of the original tracks or their ordering. But they’ve been ordered with a theme in mind. I urge you to put them in a playlist in your iTunes and order them as seen in the tracklisting.
