Subrok Mission – The Duke [Hip Hop]
I was driving home from the airport last night, listening to the local radio station and was lucky enough to hear this gem of a song by a group called Subrok Mission. After searching the Internet for far too long, I’ve found it almost impossible to find anything about Subrok Mission. Last.FM tells me they’re actually called Deela, but when I search Deela – The Duke, I find next to nothing. It looks like this song is from an album called Fantastic Freeriding, released in 2009 by SWITCHSTANCE Recordings. It’s a really eclectic collection of electronic and hip hop-inspired songs, some even sounding like they might fall in the “World Music” category. Whatever the true origins of this song, it’s a great one, and I’m anxious to find out what the samples are and just who Subrok Mission consists of. If you know any more than I do, please share!
