Pursuit of Happiness (Kid Cudi Cover) – Barbara
I know I’m a little late on this one, but I saw it today on Hype Machine and had never heard it before. It’s a remix of Cudi’s classic “Pursuit of Happiness,” and Barbara really puts an interesting twist on it, turning it into an acoustic, mellow vibe. With a great, relaxing guitar riff, Derek Stephens’ voice is a hard one not to sing along to.
The group is comprised of Stephens (who is trained classically as a vocalist), electronic infused hip-hop producer Frank Eybsen, and Betsy Moyer, who plays the keyboards and, of all things, the glockenspiel.
Anyways, a really great song for any mellow occasion, I’m sure I’ll be playing this one around the bonfire when summer rolls around.
