I was surfing around over at [Earmilk], and I did a huge double-take when I stumbled across this song – a beautiful cover of Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds by The Postrmarks. The original Three Little Birds is a hopeful, upbeat song glimmering to the brim with sunshine. It’s the song you listen to in the morning to remind yourself that, hey, every little thing’s going to be alright. Most of the covers that I’ve heard of the song string out a similar vibe, and it’s always pretty refreshing. That’s what I was expecting with The Postmarks cover, but boy was I wrong. Amazingly, they perform a cover with a totally different feel, and it’s gorgeous. The song is suffused with a soft, grey cloud that feels a little like sorrow and a little like hope. Life can be hard, and even depressing, but keep your eyes on those three little birds.
