Fun Project: First 25 Songs on Shuffle…

So this is a fun little project/personality test…though based on my results, not sure how telling it is. Put your music on shuffle and write down the first 25 songs that come on. NO CHEATING-the embarrassing ones make it fun. Here’s how mine turned out, and I’ll put my thoughts at the end.
1. “Cult Logic” - Miike Snow
2. “Sunday I’ll Be Gone” - VAST
3. “Drowning Men” - Fanfarlo
4. “Let’s Go” - Kooley High
5. “L’amour et la Violence (Allure Remix)” - Sebastien Tellier
6. “Livin in Africa” - Jozi
7. “Interstate Love Song” - Stone Temple Pilots
8. “Sweet Disposition” - The Temper Trap
9. “Sold” - John Michael Montgomery
10. “Champion” - Flipsyde
11. “Shots” - LMFAO ft. Lil Jon
12. “I Hate My Job” - Cam’ron
13. “You’re Beautiful At Night” - Shawn Chrystopher
14. “The Long and Winding Road” - Aretha Franklin
15. “Twenty Two Fourteen” - The Album Leaf
16. “Who Knows” - Mike Posner ft. Big Sean
17. “From the Hips” - Cursive
18. “Rock Show & Soul Freak” - DJ Zebra
19. “Lifetime Season” - Squashy Nice & AD
20. “Nerd Girl (ft. Janelle Monae)” - Chester French & Clinton Sparks
21. “Flower” - Moby
22. “Pretty Girls” - Wale
23. “To Build A Home” - The Cinematic Orchestra
24. “Interlude” - Milkman
25. “The Prayer” - Bloc Party

My thoughts: These really aren’t that telling. Take #9, for example. Country song. I hardly EVER listen to country. And that one is realllly Southern and twangy-barf. But, I did love that song growing up, hence its presence on my iTunes. #6, on the other hand…is pretty telling of my personality! I did live in Africa for a brief period! (Best time of my life, by the way.) #11…not so telling…I don’t tend to listen to party hits by myself. Plus, I don’t know why that song is still on my iTunes, it’s obnoxious. (Deleting very soon.) Songs 1 through 3 are dope as hell though…great songs. I love almost everything Miike Snow, and the other two are just flat out good songs. Numbers 13 and 19 are pretty telling of the type of stuff I do listen to. Light hip hop. My jam. #15 is good too-a chill song to hang out to/do work to. #16, #20, #21-yep, listen to them all the time. #23…mmmmhm, one of my favorite songs of all time. Reminds me of somebody special :)

If nothing else, this tells about the eclectic mix of music I spend too much of my time listening to. Particularly the beginning section—it started becoming more telling toward the end. I second guessed writing up this whole section about some of the songs, but screw it-I already wrote it.

If you want any of these songs available for download, leave me a message in the chatbox and I’ll post them. Now consider trying this yourself, and let me know it goes! Which 25 songs came up for you?
