Oberhofer – Gotta Go

I done goofed. Will consequences ever be the same? I’m not even sure anymore, but what I am sure of is that I’m here to make amends. Hold up, Arjun. Amends for what? If anything, we should be thanking you! No, good people of Sunset, I made a mistake–the mistake of not posting the A-side of Oberhofer’s upcoming 7″ earlier. The song is catchy, nostalgic, and highly relatable. It’s filled with the jangly guitar riffs and hazy, undulating vocals that we’ve come to expect from the Brooklyn band. I’m so ashamed for not posting it earlier. Don’t look at me, I’m hideous.
Stop, Arjun. Enough sulking. We already forgive you. We love you!
No, my loyal followers, I have to do more to fully right my wrong, so below is a song that Oberhofer sneakily posted on their Facebook page earlier today. I may be wrong, but I think it is the B-side of the 7″. The vocals of which are noticeably more distorted than those on the lead single, but “B W/ U” is just as catchy as its better half. Hell, listening to it right now, I can just imagine it playing in the background of virtually any Wes Anderson film. Even Fantastic Mr. Fox.
MP3: “B W/ U” – Oberhofer
EDIT: “B W/ U” is not yet ready for the Internet. Sorry for the inconvenience. Continue to bump Songs for an Actress, and I’ll make this up to you later.
In other news, the band just signed to Glassnote Records, which means that two of my favorite artists have recently signed to the label. We can expect a debut LP from Oberhofer early next year. Good deal.
