Mover Shaker – The Fortress of Steezhood [Sponsored Album]

Mover Shaker is a smart smart man. He’s decided to release a KILLER mashup album the day before a long weekend. Everybody with a brain in their head will take this album, make it the soundtrack to their weekend, and Mover Shaker will be seen as a mashup God.
Here’s the thing about mashups, though, and particularly mashup albums – they’re either incredible or they are awful. There isn’t much middle ground in the world of mashups, other than songs that just blend 2 songs that sound alright and don’t add much of a unique touch. There are some people who dominate the mashup game and there are others who just can’t break the mold, so their name never really becomes recognizable. Well, until now, Mover Shaker hadn’t really broken into the upper class of mashup artists, in my opinion. He has put out great stuff, but not consistently enough for me to remember that he’s a go-to guy for great mashups.
That all changed when he sent me his newest album, The Fortress of Steezhood . In this collection of mashups, he’s showcased his ability to hear music on another level. He can hear songs that would go well together and put his own spin on them so they come out sounding better than their originals. He’s mastered the art of blending the tempos, rhythms, pitches, and tones so everything sounds flawless. He’s picked old-school songs, new hit party songs, slower songs, bass-heavy songs, and everything in between. This is an absolutely incredible way to start your Memorial Day Weekend. Take this with you, wherever you may be. I promise, you’ll make at least 20 new friends at a party if you play these tracks. New Facebook friends! Wooo!
This album is brought to you by yours truly, Sunset in the Rearview.
