[Mixtape Release] Aer – The Reach
I’ve been a big fan of Aer’s music since first hearing the singles leading up to their last mixtape, Water on the Moon. Since then, I’ve posted pretty much every release from them. Their new mixtape, The Reach, dropped a few days ago, and my expectations were massive. Well, the tape absolutely delivered, to say the least.
Aer has a really vibey, mellow sound that I am a huge fan of. They do all their own production, and as far as production quality goes this tape is extremely impressive. I love how they blend hip hop, reggae, dub, and acoustic jams all into one.
I’ve compared them to Sublime and Slightly Stoopid, and I really think they have enough talent to get to a similar level of popularity. That’s a big endorsement, but these kids are simply very talented.
“Feel I Bring” is one of my favorite songs off of the tape. The laidback feel of the track is extremely mellow and relaxing, while simultaneously very catchy. Other standouts on the tape include “Never Know” which features Jordan Looney, “Ride Up” which features a rapper (whom I’ve never heard of) named June, “The Reach”, and “Another Face (Midtro).”
Definitely recommended–download the entire tape. Enjoy.
