Mashup Monday! Ft. D.Veloped, VBecks, DOSVEC
You know what I’m going to start doing on these Mashup Mondays? I’ll try to tell you a little bit about my life or day…as I typically do, and then I’m going to give you a random fact about the day that you may or may not have known. Cool? Cool. (Wow, reality check: blogging requires you to talk to yourself a lot. Ugh, man. Tough life.)
So. This was a crazy Monday. A Straight Talk Sunday will follow, but today was my last day at my current job. I’ve decided to move to California! San Francisco, here I come! So I wrapped things up at my current position, continued a frantic search to get an apartment in SF (if you’d like to contribute to the ‘Help Lydia Pay Her Rent’ piggy bank, please let me know. I will gladly accept donations between $0.01 and…well…the sky’s the limit!), thought long and hard about my career options on the West Coast (which some like to say Best Coast. I’m sure I’ll be drunkenly chanting that before the end of 2011), and in the middle of all that, found a little bit of time to seek out some baller Mashups. Bam. Productive.
Now. Did you know…that on October 24th in 1901 (oh my god this is so random and cool…are yall ready?), the first successful barrel ride over Niagara Falls occurred? A baller named Anna Edson Taylor (school teacher, mind you!) rode safely over the Falls. In a barrel. For 18 minutes. Like…what would you say to your teacher the following Monday at school? I’d probably be like, damn, bitch! That’s the shit. Now that I know you’re for real, let’s see if you can handle some of these Mashups? (Okay, not really. That’s totally lame. But for my first random fact, I’m tying it into the mashups. Forgive me later.)
