Hendersin is a name that some of you may know, others may not, but as time goes on, it’s seeming to become one that everybody SHOULD know. A couple of months ago, I was approached by Hendersin, whom I had never heard of, and his manager and was asked to post some of his music. When I heard it I thought it was just alright…nothing spectacular. I told him this and said what I thought he could do better. A couple months later, he came back to me with a new song and boldly asked if I would exclusively sponsor the release. I was nervous to listen, thinking I wouldn’t want to be rude and have to turn it down. Sure enough, when I turned on the song, I heard something in Hendersin that I had yet to see. I heard determination, an original flow, and recognizable skill.
Songs where artists tout themselves and say they’re going to be the best in the world often seem cliche to me, but Hendersin approaches the topic in a unique manner. He uses clever wordplay that left me raising my eyebrows wondering how he came up with that and he uses rhyme schemes that were impressive and unexpected. In the end, I’m convinced that Hendersin is right – we will remember his name.
