You know girls who just drive you crazy, and you want to get faded to forget how crazy they make you? Well, I think that’s what this song is about, to an extent, and on this Michael Keenan-produced remix of the killer Miniature Tigers track, Skizzy Mars finds his voice. And I’m not being cheeky because he sings on the record–I’m saying, who else is rapping about this stuff? He takes the perspective of a huge and massively underserved rap market: the average millennial now gloriously suffering through his or her 20s. Like, if you think about it, rappers are hardly making music for or about them. To me, Skizzy’s music represents progress in rap music. It doesn’t become about race, sexuality, creed or whatever; he just raps about the essentials in the life of a young adult. At the same time, sonically, Michael Keenan and he are seamlessly blending hip-hop and indie music.
Um, excuse me. You look something like a lot of arguments in the morning.
