Dare Dukes – Meet You At The Bus

Dare Dukes embodies a sound that some readers of Sunset in the Rearview might hate, but others might absolutely croon over. If you’re a sucker for banjos and upbeat folk music, this song right here is just for you. Luckily for me, I love banjos and nasally voices (don’t knock on nasally voices unless you’re willing to say Dylan sucked. And don’t say that.) just as much as I love some heavy hip hop. Diverse palette, I suppose. Anyway, I hadn’t heard of Dare Dukes before today, but I am quickly falling in love with this song, “Meet You At The Bus.” The album is destined to be spectacular, as he pulled in Marla Hansen (of Sufjan Stevens) and members of Of Montreal, The Modern Skirts, and TV on the Radio to help build his sound. The record is slated for a January 2012 release.
