Childish Gambino Signs to Glassnote Records

Donald Glover has signed onto Glassnote Records, home of indie sweethearts Givers and folk rockers Mumford & Sons. In an interview with AllHipHop.com, Donald said that this move comes after wanting an “indie push” for his upcoming full-length LP Camp (artwork above), which he’s categorizing as “black rock” due to its use of real instruments to create anthemic beats. This also means that the album will be released on vinyl as well as on iTunes. After releasing his EP in spring and a few singles, including this All of the Lights cover, since then, the hype for any new Childish Gambino material is through the roof. The actor-comedian-writer-musician gave his fans a preview of a new song, that the Internet named “Bonfire”, at Comic-Con just a month ago.
Donald is currently performing on the Rock The Bells Tour, and he’s doing the following shows to promote his album, which is due out sometime in September or October:
OCT 5th – Memphis, TN – New Daisy Theatre – HERE
OCT 6th – Nashville, TN – Nashville Cannery – HERE
OCT 7th – Athens, GA – Georgia Theatre – HERE
OCT 8th – Orlando, FL – Orlando Plaza Theatre – HERE
And while I’m at it, here are some old Childish gems:
