Best of October 2012

posted by: Jordan Best of the Month | Lists & Rankings

The great thing about October is that I get to spoil your Halloween with Best of October. And what’s possibly better than candy? Great music. Trick or treat, trick or treat, gimme something good to listen to!

PS: Top 5 was challenging for me this month based off of the amount of fantastic music.

Jordan’s Top 5:

Ghost Beach – Tear Us Apart

At this point, they’re one of the most consistent groups out right now. Song after song, they impress with that signature Ghost Beach sound. Despite “Tear Us Apart” being slower than previous releases, they kill it. They got tracks on tracks on tracks!

HAERTS – Wings

The debut song from HeavyRoc’s newest edition to their family, HAERTS, is quite the impressive one. The boy-girl duo from Brooklyn don’t disappoint with the lush, soaring vocals, and the dreamy instrumental. Their debut effort was good enough to land them a top 5 spot.

A$AP Rocky ft. 2Chainz, Drake, & Kendrick Lamar – Fucking Problem

What do all four of these guys have in common? Success. A$AP is one of the top street rappers, 2Chainz (despite ability) has taken the industry by storm with his humorous lyrics, Kendrick created the best rap album of 2012, and Drake, is uh, Drake. So this song’s a fucking problem because of who’s on it.

Big Sean – Guap

God, oh god! First single off of his sophomore album. It’s no surprise how big of a fan myself and Andy are of Big Sean. Guap uses steel drums and it’s fantastic. Oh god (again)!

Shwayze – Love Is Overrated

Catchiest song of the month. I can’t help it. Shwayze always does this to me.

Honorable Mention: One Room, Kid CuDi, Upper West, The Weeknd, Chance The Rapper & Kendrick Lamar
