Upstart TIDES, a bicoastal R&B duo, have just released their latest single called “I Found You.” The song, which is about a long-distance relationship, blends together uplifting church organs (reminiscent of Chance The Rapper) with DJ Mustard-inspired trap drums to silky results. A love song at heart without ever being too forced, “I Found You” will certainly bring some warmth to your cold, December day.

Between his TV show Atlanta and his own music festival, Donald Glover is one busy Renaissance Man. Always up to something and not one to disappoint, Mr. Glover finally released the first single of his upcoming album “Awaken, My Love!”
The track, “Me And Your Mama,” is densely packed with scorching highs and lullaby lows, and offers a side of Childish Gambino we haven’t quite seen before. Singing through an amplifier at times, the new style offered on “Me And Your Mama” screams before it croons, and is anything but dull. If this track is any reflection of his upcoming LP, we’re in for something special.

Newcomer Ezkiel has a brooding and deliberate pulse to his music. Equal parts mysterious and vulnerable, the Chicago-native’s production style is reminiscent of early The Weeknd, pairing eerie synths with hip-hop percussion. “Just need you to focus,” he urges his muse on the chorus with a seductive croon. We’ll most definitely be paying closer attention to Ezkiel whenever his next record arrives.

Every now and then an artist emerges from the depths, plucked out of thin air, and causes the world to stir. With some good Internet fortune and a major co-sign from Pharrell, Maggie Rogers finds herself in that very (viral) situation. After completely blowing Skateboard P’s mind during his masterclass at NYU, Rogers went back to work to mix and master her demo of “Alaska.” The young talent has finally unveiled the polished product, and the result is an amazing blend of folk, dance, and pop that glitters and bounces just as much as it speaks with honesty and vulnerability.

Keeping the momentum rolling on his latest mixtape Coloring Book, Chance The Rapper has shared the visuals for his summer anthem “No Problem,” which features 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne. Both featured artists make an appearance in the fun-filled video, with numerous other cameos including Young Thug and DJ Khaled.
Watch Chance and company drink, smoke, and dance their way through the video for “No Problem” below. Rap along to the lyrics as well!
Crywolf has been on a tear later. In the past year, he’s released 3 projects that have steadily built his buzz and audience. Equally talented as a producer as he is a singer, his latest effort is a complete revamp of “Never Be Like You” by Flume, and it’s stellar from front to back. Most wouldn’t be able to pull off a cover like this – a record that was already a #1 hit in Australia – but Crywolf seemingly reinvents the wheel with ease. Replacing the original’s pop flavor for something more brooding, Crywolf’s vocals soar over deep R&B tones that give a dark twist to “Never Be Like You” that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

Since their debut Steps EP came out a year ago, synthpop act Handsome Ghost have grown a lot, musically and personally. Their latest offering “Graduate” shows us their splendid progress. Equal parts playful and brooding, the new cut takes a pulsating bassline and an ever-catchy hook that will have you grooving from start to finish. “Graduate” may be a look to the past, but it it surely demonstrates this band’s bright future.

Atlanta-based duo Halogen continue their ascending march through the ladders of the dance world with their latest remix of Lost Kings. Teaming up with fellow producer Niko The Kid, Halogen and company take the already great “You” to new heights, pitching down Katelyn Tarver’s vocals and adding in an infectious bass riff that’s Disclosure-esque. Look out for this one the next time you hit the dance floor.

Nashville is deep rooted in soulful singer songwriters, and R.LUM.R represents a new wave from that historic tree. On his latest cut, “Tell Me”, RLUMR combines lush electronic elements with his intimate and breathy vocals to splendid results. It’s an honest and vulnerable track that is guised behind its tight and upbeat production, which is a good thing. Looking forward to hearing more from this guy as he continues to heat up!

I’m a little slow to this release, but better late than never. JR Nelson’s latest remix soothes like a breezy, summer night. Taking his turn at the already great “Trophy” by Kayjo, JR puts together smooth piano, trumpet, and synths that lend themselves perfectly to Kayjo’s singsong flow. Looking forward to hearing more from JR soon (and hopefully some originals!)
California producer DEVAULT has a knack for synth driven trap music, and his latest remix of Evangeline’s “My Kingdom” is no exception. Chopping up the original’s vocals, the 19-year-old remix enthusiast combines hard-hitting percussion with piercing synths that make this single a festival-ready anthem. Looking forward to hearing more from DEVAULT very soon.
