We get it, it’s still cold out and snow is even falling in some places, but let’s take a step back for a minute. Imagine a drive with the windows down, sun shining, and warm wind blowing in your hair. You’ve got a tune blasting and guess what that tune is? Her’s’ new song “Speed Racer”. Why this one you may ask? It’s the indie-rock feel good vibe that you need to accompany you on a beautiful day. So when the sun starts shining again, you’ve got your best friend track ready for you. “Speed Racer” is that upbeat indie rock sound that isn’t complicated or crazy, but hits that feel good spot every single time. Listen to it below and get your summer dreamin’ on.
Dutch-Zimbabwean artist Rina Mushonga is coming in hot with her latest track, “Atalanta”. The track, released earlier this month, has many layers and textures that combine to make a beautiful combination of sounds. It’s a little bit of indie, pop, experimental, and plenty of zest. Mushonga knows how to go outside of the box, to say the least. She’s filled with fire and we’re completely drawn in. Check out “Atalanta” below and feel the heat (of a great track).
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been a whopping five years since Electric Guest released their debut album Mondo. What took so long? Apparently, they had an album ready, scrapped it, and now here we are. Plural is officially out to the world and we’re happy they took their time with this one. “Oh, Devil” is one of the standout tracks on Plural with its infectious undeniable pop vibe. It’ll quickly get you tapping your feet (or just letting it all out with killer dance moves). Electric Guest stays true to the sound we came to love from the band, but doesn’t fall short of keeping us excited. Check out a taste with “Oh, Devil” and don’t forget to spin Plural for your indie-pop needs.
Ever since the band FOE came to an end, Hannah Lou Clark has been hard at work with solo material. The grunge-pop princess has released two great EPs and is bracing for her third. “Don’t Sweat It” is oozing with Clark’s signature sound, so long-time fans definitely won’t be disappointed. It’s rock with pop sprinkled over it. You’ll basically want to play air guitar while singing along to every sweet catchy word. Hannah Lou Clark is the rock-pop princess we’ve been missing in these times (where have you been old-school Avril?!). Check out the track below and keep an eye out for her EP coming soon!
Sometimes a track can sound like an automatic hit and you find yourself wondering, “how is this not invading the radio?!”. This time around it’s an electric pop number from Ryder, a Los Angeles based artist. “Nirvana” is a dreamy, catchy tune that’ll perfectly sit itself into your head for hours because of its undeniably addictive chorus. So what more can we really ask for? Check out the fresh pop track below.
Some of us hackle our brothers and sisters and some of us actually do something productive with our siblings. Family Friends is an example of how to do the sibling thing right. This Melbourne-London duo brings a mixture of grunge, pop, and edge. Their latest track “I’m Like You” is dreamy, but definitely doesn’t lack attitude. If it’s any indication of what to expect from the band, we’re ready for another taste. Their latest EP will be out on February 24th, so your dose of old-school vibes will be perfectly treated soon. For now, check out “I’m Like You” below.
ISLAND may not be a name you know now, but they’re anticipated to be one of the top acts to watch in 2017. This indie-rock outfit has been turning heads, selling out shows in the UK, and also has their fair share of high streaming numbers. “Dreaming Of” is their latest track off of their upcoming EP A Place You Like and it really sets the stage for what ISLAND is all about. It’s a love song that’s intertwined with tenderness and dream-like sounds. However, it doesn’t stray from that pure indie-rock vibe. Check out the track below and keep an eye out for more ISLAND in the near future!
Some tracks are so easy to get into within seconds because they reel you in with a mesmerizing, catchy beat. You turn it on and like that your mind is twisting and your head is bobbing like nobody’s business. “Savage” is no exception and we can thank Paces and Nyne for that. This team-up is a match made in addictive sounds heaven and will likely control your brain for the rest of the night. Get your dose of pop-electronic goodness below.
That feeling of angst may seem like something we left in our teenage years, but let’s be honest, those emotions still come up in our twenties and beyond. So, it’s only fair we have a bit of rage in our music to keep the vibes going. Luckily, we’ve got a pop-rock powerhouse like Grace Mitchell to quench our thirst for edgy sounds. “Kids (Ain’t All Right)” is her latest offering and it has something we haven’t quite seen from the Portland artist yet. We’re used to poppier vibes from her, but she’s taking it to “let’s smash a guitar” level and we’re all about it (and I think we could all use it this week). Check out the angsty anthem, “Kids (Ain’t All Right) below.
Jazz Cartier is ringing in the new year with some fresh tunes which we can never resist. “Tempted” could have been a perfect party track to dance to on New Year’s, but who says there isn’t still time to add it to the playlist? This “love” party song will become a hip-hop earworm real quick with its addictive chorus, “Feel like I can’t get enough/ If you keep dancing on me/ Girl, I’ll be tempted to touch“. Jazz Cartier is bound to bring it in 2017 and this one is just the start. Check out the catchy track below.
