“Run Away” – Luego
As I was listening to Blitzen Trapper’s Destroyer of the Void this evening, I realized I needed to go searching for similar music. Luckily, sitting right there in my email inbox was an email from Patrick Phelan, known on stage as Luego, whose folk-inspired sounds are reminiscent of Blitzen Trapper’s. Based in Durham, NC and being a Duke graduate, Luego automatically captures my attention, but it turns out to be more than just being a local and a Blue Devil that draws me in. His lyrical mastery is something that is not to be ignored – the album, Ocho, is known to tell a story from start to finish. For this reason, I encourage you to head over to iTunes and purchase the whole album.
