“Pea” – Rabbit!

One time I forwarded an email to an entire listserv and my family. I clearly wasn’t thinking very straight. My mom replies to almost every email she receives…of course she would reply to this one. And my mom was born before computers…of course she doesn’t really know to check what the difference is between “Reply to sender” and “Reply all.” Next thing I know, my entire sorority listserv got a loving email from my mom beginning with “HI, PEA!!!!!!!” So there you have it. My mom calls me Pea. A little teasing never hurt anybody.

This song, “Pea,” by a group I hadn’t yet heard of, Rabbit!, is doing it for me today. I’ve been in a chipper mood all day, and to say this song doesn’t fall right in line with “chipper,” “alert,” “animated,” “lively,” “spirited,” and all of its other synonyms that thesaurus.com is giving me would be foolish. If you can handle the pop-driven major chords and picture-perfect lyrics, you might dig this song too. Be forewarned: if you cringe at the thought of cheesiness in music, you may shrivel up and die when you hear this. But hey, if that’s the case, you probably couldn’t survive the last few minutes of Juno either…and I say that’s your loss.
