Feature: The Go! Team

posted by: Lydia Uncategorized

First things first, look how diverse this group is. I love it.

So I hadn’t heard of this group yet. (Am I way behind?) But my friend sent me a link to one of their videos and a song to download, and there was an automatic thought going through my head: I must blog this.

Next. This may seem off-topic, but hear me out. Yall remember the days of lemonade stands? Four square? Sidewalk chalk? Digging to China (sorry…for any readers in China, this might not apply)? Picnics at the park? Basketball in the driveway? What do all of these things have in common? They’re part of childhood. Yeah yeah, we may not have all done each of these things, but I imagine you can understand what I’m saying. Power to the youth, though. How many other people can still enjoy being outside as much as children can? Be as carefree as children can! No inhibitions!

Where am I going with all of this blabbering? Check out this video by The Go! Team. Something about the outdoors, the sunshine, the graffiti, the painting on the cement…it all reminds me of childhood. I want to go back outside and do all of these things. I’m not sure anybody would buy lemonade from my stand anymore, but I’d have a damn good time doing it. Hell, I look like a child anyway, so maybe people would buy from me.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts if you want. Maybe I’ve lost my mind because I’ve been cooped inside sick, and it’s a beautiful day out today. I’m going to take this as a cue to go for a walk outside. It’s the weekend-that’s what days like this are for. I recommend doing the same. Enjoy the music. Maybe even put it on your headphones, if you deem it worthy enough, and listen to it while walking. Talk about a picker-upper!
