“May Day Revisited” – Mojib

I’ve been sick in bed all day. Literally, have left my bed only to use the restroom and to relocate to the couch for the TV. (And to eat with my boyfriend who brought me soup, that was nice.) So needless to say, I needed a bit of change this evening. I was searching through email submissions and came across this one, and I’m very intrigued! Read: ears, which I haven’t been able to pop all day, seemed to open up! You know that moment where you’re just like…boom! This works! Yeah, I had one of those. So hats off to Mojib, you got it dude. I’ll have to revisit this in a few days when I’m feeling better, but for now, this is doing it. Thank you, good sir.

What we’ve got here is a remix from the Swedish producer Mojib. (Side note: anybody else realizing that Sweden is completely dominating the indie music playground? Yeahhhh, those are my ROOTS!) He’s reconstructed the 2007 song “May Day” by UNKLE featuring The Duke Spirit. He mashed together the vocals of Liela Moss with music from The Radio Dept., and then adding his own piano and acapella melodies. Throw it all into the funnel and you find yourself chugging a drinkable mix of alternative indie, rock, and electronica. Drink!Drink!Drink!
