SHORT FILM: “Fake Empire” – Ryan Lewis

So I’ve been following this guy Ryan Lewis for about 3 years now. He’s a producer, photographer, and designer out of Seattle, WA, and I’ve been blown away by his work since the first time I saw it. I was just checking his MySpace page as I like to do here and there and came across this short film that he did called “Fake Empire.” The main actor in the film is Macklemore, a rapper out of Seattle. He’s also done work with Blu, Symmetry, Grieves, Grynch, and more.

This video is shot entirely on regular SLR cameras by Ryan. The music is also produced by Ryan in Pro-Tools and Reason. It samples “Fake Empire” by The National out of Brooklyn.

This is true artistry reflecting on society at its core.
