MUSIC VIDEO: “Go Do” – Jonsi

The main singer from Sigur Ros, who is now doing solo work because the rest of his band members are taking some family time, produces another beauty. I figure that yall can hear for yourselves just how great this song is. So instead, I’m going to take a second to put out my thoughts on the video. Let’s just make it simple: this is a complete work of art. The Icelandic scenery and colors that take over the entire “canvas,” if you will, including Jonsi’s body itself, are chilling. To me, this video represents a spectacular visual of freedom. Jonsi seems to represent the birds that he frees, and as there is no human intimacy until the very end, after the birds have been freed, I feel that the message is along the lines of “the individual must free his or her own mind first, before reaching any other sense of release.” Anyway…there’s my first analysis of this sort that I’ve done since high school English class, and please feel free to contradict me! That’s what makes it fun! But as for me…that’s my stand, and I may even go so far as to say I feel like a weight was just lifted off of my own shoulders.

You should always know that we can do anything
