Neon Indian is a group out of Austin, Texas (go Horns), whose band leader is often known as VEGA and has contributed time to the band Ghosthustler. They tend to use a lot of amazing samples in their music, which is the first thing that hooked me. Though there is a possibility that this music may only appeal to the super hipsters out there, it could potentially reach out to people just looking to kick it and enjoy watching the Visualizer feature on their iTunes. I think I could describe this music as drippy and trippy. Interpret as you will. Maybe it’s just easier to give it a listen and see what you think for yourself. “Mind, Drips” is an amazing song. “Psychic Chasms” was my other favorite off of their latest LP. Oh and how could I nearly forget…the cubism-inspired artwork off the album cover is simply delightful.
