Sorry, Weezy

Green and Yellow- Lil Wayne

I messed up big time the other day. Let me explain how much I messed up.

Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. is a Packers fanatic. This is what I said on our original post of Green and Yellow.

The fact that you are dabbling in some bullshit Black and Yellow remix about a team that you could not care less about is below you.

While I still think it’s below Wayne to get on Black and Yellow in such a halfassed way, I need to clear things up. On September 24th, 2008, Lil Wayne predicted the Packers would win the Super Bowl. Two years later, it’s looking like that’s a very legitimate possibility. If Rogers plays the way we know he is able to, they could easily win this game; the Steelers defense needs to step up in a way only a Steelers defense can.

When asked about his favorite Athletes, Wayne responded to ESPN by saying-

I’ve been a Brett Favre fan since like 1995. I love the Green Bay Packers.

Got any Super Bowl picks? ESPN then asked.

Yes I do. The Packers.

Wayne’s Packer fanaticism was one of the things he wrote about most in his first ESPN blog post (which also dropped September 28th of 2008).

As a Packers fan, it’s been pretty good so far. Aaron Rodgers has been wonderful, man. He’s handled everything, and way more than just the football part. Besides the Packers, my favorite teams are the Red Sox, the Lakers, and the Boston Bruins.

So, sorry readers. I lied. He is a Packers fan. Still incredibly disappointed in the weakness of the song, but at least it was not necessarily the plea for relevance that I thought it was. Regardless, a terrible song. I expect more from you Wayne.

Shouts to my friend Robby for telling me I was misinformed about Dwayne’s Packer fandom.

Go Steelers
